Dr. Skaugrud graduated from high school in his hometown of Juneau, Alaska, before moving south for his higher education. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Chapman University in Orange, California. He made the short move to San Francisco to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the esteemed University of the Pacific, graduating in 1995.
After completing dental school, Dr. Skaugrud moved to Cincinnati for his two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Hospital. He discovered his gift for communicating with kids who have special needs and received extensive training in behavior management, oral conscious sedation, and treatments with general anesthesia.
Today, Dr. Skaugrud gives children healthy, gleaming smiles with cleanings and treatments at My Kidz Dentist. He knows that going to the dentist can be scary for kids, so he strives to make their appointments as carefree and fun as possible while keeping open communication with their parents. He frequently performs root canals, fillings, crown fittings, and cleanings.
